James Milner Saddened after Sergio Aguero is out of League

Manchester City midfielder James Milner has admitted that the absence of Sergio Aguero for the next couple of weeks is a massive blow for the team, but he feels that City have enough quality in the squad to overcome his absence.

Aguero was forced off the field after just a couple of minutes during the Premier League game against Everton on Saturday. Even though City are tight-lipped about the injury and are refusing to reveal the length of his absence, he is certain to miss the match against Roma. Aguero has been the most important player for City this season.

The 26-year-old has scored 14 league goals and is in a redhot form. In the absence of Aguero, City have a win percentage of only 60% and it improves to an impressive 72% with the Argentine in the team. Despite those statistics, Milner says that players like Edin Dzeko can step up to the plate when required. Dzeko was only marginally used in the win over Everton. This has been presumably done with the Roma match in mind. The Italian club rested a number of key players in the league match and could only manage a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo. However, they did not lose ground in the title race after table leaders Juventus could also only manage a draw in their match.

“Sergio is a world-class player, one of the best on the planet, and has been absolutely outstanding, so the injury has come at a bad time.People can say whatever they want, if they think we’re a one-man team. Some people have been saying Chelsea have won the league, 10 games in, and here we are with a three-point gap. We just concentrate on our own business and that’s the most important thing,” said Milner ahead of the trip to Italy.
